For the upcoming Mastery Test 3.1, you need to master how to use your periodic table and unleash its full power! So, with the use of Mr. L's Magic Powers I have summoned Mr. Hangaroo to assist you in studying the Elements! Mr. Hangaroo will help you review what you know about the Periodic Table.

But alas! He has a condition before he will help us. He wants you to review on the videos and links that I have posted previously. He also asks you to prepare your "Scroll of Magic" (a.k.a. the periodic table). In case you lost your Scroll of Magic, it is mandatory for you to download another copy from here.

It is also a requirement that you improve your own level before you present yourself to Mr. Hangaroo. You can do so by accomplishing the following missions successfully:

Answer the Element Flash Cards correctly.
Answer the Element Math Game correctly. (UNCHECK "nucleons" and CHECK "yes")
Play with the Atom Hangman.
Unscramble the Elements.
Match the Elements with their Symbols.

Finally, the time has come for Mr. Hangaroo to show himself! If you're ready to face him, then go and click the picture below!

So, you think you're very good now? This last game is a game of wits and concentration. It's not for the faint-hearted! If you're the brave one that we are looking for, then go ahead and beat it!

To help us in learning about the Elements, I want you to check out these useful resources.

The Photographic Periodic Table of Elements - This site features images of almost all the elements. This can help us appreciate these elements and understand their significance. Now we would know the answer to "Sir, what is this element used for?"
The Elements Song – If pictures aren’t enough for you, how about we add some music to it? Take note though that not all elements are mentioned in this song.
Video Demonstrations of the Elements in the Periodic Table – If pictures and music still isn’t enough, how about videos? This website will show you videos for each element in the periodic table.
Periodic Table Tetris – This last one is a game. It includes the upper parts of the periodic table. So simple to do actually.

It’s now time for reviewing for the Periodical Test. Let us get ready to do our best. Let’s distance ourselves from playing DotA, browsing and playing in Facebook, chatting in YM, etc…. Let us focus on the task of reviewing for tomorrow’s exams!

So, go and get your things:

Science notebook
Science textbook
Tests
Seatworks

Check your notebook for the topic coverage and test types. I won’t be posting them here anymore. Read everything from the beginning of the 2nd Quarter until the end. I would highly recommend making a “map” of all the lessons we had. Write down topics, concepts, and terms and connect them with lines and arrows. This way, you can see the connection of everything to everything.

Then, review your tests and seatworks. Try answering all of them again without looking at the answers. Then, you may open your notes and check your own answers.

Make sure that you have taken the Yacapaca test. For those who have forgotten your Yacapaca password, you may go to this page in order to retrieve your password.

This afternoon, I’ll be teaching the other teachers how to use websites for their classes so don’t be surprised if by 3rd and 4th Quarter you will be using the Internet also for your Reading, Language, Math, and Social Studies subjects.

I’ll try to post more review materials tonight so if you can come back at about 8PM, please try. I’m planning to post some practice questions for you to answer.
